The inspiration for the d°light design is sunlight. The comforting rays of the sun not only represent warmth and light but also happiness, joy, playfulness, and life itself. People often take these qualities for granted, however, missing the sunlight only when it is unavailable. The concept embodied in the d°light Huggable is to create a light that captures the essence of sunlight, condensed into something tactile and personal.

The d°light Huggable is a furry pillow cover wrapped around a series of 12 LED lights embedded within silicone bubbles. The silicone acts as a diffuser for the LED lights. The natural color of the silicone material is translucent white. When lit with warm, white LED lamps, the technology creates a warm and comforting glow that represents sunlight. The tactile quality of the silicone also mimics the feeling of a living creature, and d°light Huggable almost hugs back as you hold it. Its qualities also absorb body heat, causing it to be warm to the touch. The shape and material of the pillow cover encourages people to touch, hold and bond with d°light Huggable.

The d°light Huggable can be powered by 4 AA batteries or a 6 volt AC adaptor. When used with 250MAH rechargeable AA batteries, the d°light Huggable stays bright for approximately 4 hours before slowly fading. It can be turned on and off by pulling the chain switch, making it easy to save battery power while it’s not being used. The d°light Huggable uses low heat SMD LEDs and has been tested by Diana Lin Design for safety considerations.

The d°light Huggable has many everyday applications. Besides providing a great sense of warmth and security when held, it can be used as accent ambient lighting, a night light, or for those who like the warmth of light for a good night’s sleep. In addition, d°light Huggable is also a great sunshine supplement that will uplift its owner’s mood year-round. The uses of d°light Huggable is limited only by people’s imaginations.
